Last Chance
im a HUGE fan of Final Fantasy Pre7.
7&8 were fun
9 was O.K.
10, 10-2, 11, just outright sucked. (my oppinion)
if 12 doesnt kick ass im going to lose hope in the future of FF and just play the classics until square gets it right again.
its odd watching a series that i loved so long start to turn into a completely different game that has nothing to do with how it started. watching the game become extremely short (i was amazed when my friend came over while i was playing 10 for about 8 hours and said "Oh you've almost beat the game!")
so 12 is the last chance game for me. i hear its about pirates, which means it gets a boost in the "cool-factor" but the length and story of the game are still up for grabs. one guy who played the demo said it blew, another said it was amazing, im not letting this affect me as it's just a demo and they ususally suck anyhow. (why cant anyone make a GOOD demo?)
so heres the plan.
IF 12 wins my heart over:
i play it at my friends house until i beat it (i sold my PS2 due to lack of intersting games, so i will have to play it at somone elses house.)
IF 12 blows and square breaks my heart:
I replay all FF games from 1 to 6 via emulation software (or Nintendo Revolution)
(maybe IX too, as i never actually beat it.)
maybe also Chrono Cross and Chrono Trigger (cant remember which came first, and which one i beat already)
*prays and crosses fingers*

well 12 has a lot of new features in it that maybe annoying but i say would be better you can see the monsters walking around so you can avoid them if you want to and the characters in it look cool so i say there is hope but there is always hope in games made by square-enix now that arent ff but still good such as Sta ocean till the end of time its hard and takes a long time to beat but has attractive characters and a decent battle system aswell as quite a good story line along with the battle system it would take about 100 hours to fully complete which is true and Kingdom Hearts is a good game aswell and the second version looks better in every way

woah no periods, if i was speaking it outloud i would have fallen unconcious by the middle. lol
that feature you mentoned though isint exactly new. one FF game (without a FF #) had that feature and it KICKED BUTT. so yah that will be cool.
im still going to give it a chance, square can still win me over.

um... oy. i think ive already lsot hope after they put out ffx-2 it just ruined it for me and im not very optimistic. the fact that the original director (the man responsable for ff tactics and other games) got sick and had to leave the project from supposedly being overworked and such things, the new director (the man responsable for ff saga i think it was called...) is doing it. so its going to be two totally different styles. its been going for 5 years (since ffx came out) and i feel they have lost momentium and even worse, their vision. i hope im wrong

Well you may feel they lost momentum but I think Square would have made massive profits from it's FFX and FFX-2 franchise. Personally I loved FFX more than any game I've ever played. Though X-2 pretty much spat on everything that was good about X and it seems it tarnished X's reputation.
I'm totally optimistic about FFXII and really looking forward to it, rather than seeying it as a last chance. I see it as a chance to go through another great RPG, one that I'm looking forward to. It's been delayed so many times so hopefully this means it will be the best....Game....Ever, lol.

i figure that no matter what i hear from other people, im going to buy it and play through it. i did it with X-2 and well... i then sold it lol. but i will play it.
on a secondary note, its so sad that the newer generations will not have had the chance to play ff7 and enjoy it. since its graphics are dated and ps3 is right around the corner... new comers to the game will be slim, not to mention that getting a copy of the game is hard. i wish they would update ff7 for the next generation of gamers... as well as the next gen consoles.
