augh.
i know im going to buy it for my 360 just because i want the best graphics possible.
but the guys at Epic are EXTREMELY good programmers so i bet that it could run on my PC with medium settings. (or low. but it would still look good)
aww hell with it. ill buy both of them. thats how much i love Unreal.

WHOAAAA, man those graphics are alot better than 2003, thats the only one i've playeed from the Unreal Tournament series, not sure how good 20004,5 and 6 were, but 2007 made it look really real (almost)

exactly.
UT2k4 is still a gorgeous game. and it can be run with max settings and still maintain 60fps.
then there are games like "F.E.A.R" where it only runs on my computer with all the settings on low. which makes it look like rat *, and run at 30fps.
why is it that the better the games are supposto look, the worse they run? i mean shouldent the game look better than say UT2k4 but not as good as it could be?

Yeah FEAR ran poorly on my machine as well, and a year ago my PC could handle any game with max settings. In fact I still play Half Life 2 and Counterstrike those games run beautifully. The reason why games like FEAR, Doom 3 and Quake 4 run so bad is because of all of the real time lighting that looks nice but only looks good on the most upgraded PC. I was going to upgrade my PC about 5 times but everytime I am about to spend the $700 I then hold off since I know in a month or so a new graphics card will come out that is the same price and even better then the current ones out now.

i have a DirectX9.0 card atm.
ill probably upgrade when i see a DirectX10 card.
and it will probably be nVidia as they build a longer lasting card in my oppinion (my GeForce4 4200 Ti i gave to my brother is playing almost all the same games i am playing.. so not too good of an upgrade to a 9800pro)
so ill probably end up with an nVidia Geforce8 somethingsomething.
its got to last a long time as i dont plan on upgradeing while im at college. (4 years) so ill probably blow as much money as i have on my final PC upgrade.

I share your frustration with how hard it is to keep up on games as they come out. I just got FEAR and I love the game so much, but I get such crappy performance out of it. But you know, even with low settings it is still one of the best games that I have played in the longest time. Scary as all get out. I've had several FEAR nightmare much to the displeasure of the little woman.
