PSX?? Now what's that?

lol ok so Haine's asked this before! What is PSX???? cause Haine's been told that it was a computer and then Haine's been told that its PS1 annnd sooo! which is it? lol Haine's can finally answer this question for you all (technically for Haine herself lol since Haine asked this question in the first place) psx WAS the name for PS1 but the letter "X" was eventually dropped. So then! What's this talk about PSX being new!?!?! weeeeeeellll its not really new but PSX was released in 2004! and why don't most people know about it? weeeeeeeeeeellll cause it was only released in Japan! annnd whhy was it only released in Japan?? well who knows lol buuut the psx cost about $1000 USD lol pretty pricey isn't it? buuuut why is it so pricey?? cause of the stuff it can do and the cost to make it! lol this was released after ps2 (obviously) and it was suppose to make a BIG break buuuut unfortunately it DIDN'T cause the thing wasn't really about the games but what can it do? weellll PSX has a hard drive of 160GB or 250GB (both at different prices) and can record TV shows and burning them on to CD or DVD-R!!!! and some say it could even have the possibility of being able to link up with PS3!! but for what purpose? Haine has not clue! lol

and sooo any questions for the great teacher Haine? (though Haine refuses to become a teacher!)

Its the original Playstation. After the PS2 came out and they began reproducing the original one, they named it the PSX. I guess they thought it sounded better than PS1. Also, theyre smaller, and cheaper than the original.

ALso, I didnt read your entire message, just the original question.

Well, in that case I dont know. But what I do know is that the original PlayStation was called the PSX. Maybe they created a new console, I dunno. But the original was known as the PSX. Do a Google image search.

also noted that the letter "X" is not an attractive letter in japan. it means "not good" or "Bad".

the letter "O" is seen as more of a good letter. as it represents an eternity and infinate. these relate to religious ideals. but the "O" is better than an "X"

you can see this on the PS2 where the "O" on the controller always means accept or procede. and the "X" always means back or decline.

This hurt the Xbox as you can imagine (thats like having a console here in america that was named "Crap box" not literally but about the same meaning.

the new 360 design has dozens of "O"'s on it now.

PSX though.. its sounds badass, but the letter X is very popular in america, im supprised that i was released in japan only.

then again if its just an expensive Tvio then i can see why.

lol really? "O" for the buttons mean accept? in Japan or america? lol cause "X" is usually Haine's acepting button and "O" is for declining something lol

buuut ITS TRUE! lol "X" IS bad lol since the new PSX didn't sell lol no one liked it lol so there goes a lot of money for them down the drain lol

cutural differences.

like how the japanese love RPG's more than anything else. and have like 1000 RPG dating games.

i should get a book on the cultural differences between america and japan (and maybe the differences between North and south japan. as my Exchange student Nahomi said that there was a huge grammar difference between them)

This is the first I have ever heard of this PSX. But if you say it would have been 1000.00 US they can keep it.

I always thought the PSX was just the renamed version of the original PS1 when the smaller psone came out
