phon coast you need to look for a guy sitting (he looks like a bhujerban) and you will see the key shinning.....ok if you are in phon coast go to the teleportation crystal then keep going up the hill and you will see the guy

who died you or him?? by the way the battle music when you fight gilgamesh is one of the coolest battle music in the game...

To kill the dog you can use Oil and Firaga to do 9999. Lure and Reverse is pretty good and he uses level 2 sleep, level 3 disable and level 4 break so to play it safe don't be in levels with the multiple of 2,3,4 but I just pick odd numbers since you can have something on your equipment to avoid the disable.
Gilgamesh battle and Doctor Cid (first encounter) had the best music.

In the second Gilgamesh battle I reccomend being a level that isn';t a multipe of two or three then his level dependant spells won't work on your party

I loved the Gilgamesh fights, got the full genji set in the process 
First time, you need the site 2 key (which you should have from the Antlion hunt), its on the bridge after the gate crystal.
For the second fight, go to site 11 (get the key from the fallen bhujerban in phon coast).
Follow the path round (WARNING the monsters here are amongst the strongest in the game). Keep following the path until you reach the save crystal. You may want to save the game now, Gilgamesh is in the next room.
As an extra bonus, you can do the second part of the fishing sidequest after beating him.
