Make that about 1000 (Yes, a thousand) times a minute.
As for the pain, it'll vary depending on your pain tolerance. The best description I can think of when you're getting it done is that it feels like a rather stinging graze. Best advice I can give if you get a tattoo: Take someone with you to talk to, it helps take your mind off it so much it's great.

Well, like I said its about 1000 jabs a minute (give or take). Im guessing something that complex would take a good couple of hours (Hell, my Red XIII ink took 50 minutes and it isnt as complex as this).
So to answer your question:
A considerable amount more than 1000 times ^_^

Out of my many Tatoos, yes they do hurt. And the face is one of the most painful. I dont have any exp about them on your face. but i have had a friend that has gotten one done, and a quite large one at that. I dont plan n getting one on my face anytime soon for i dont wont to mees up my money maker(chuckle chuckle) But I do have tattoo's and plan to get more in the future.

I could imagine that the face would hurt like hell, I don't intend to have anything done above my neck, since I work in an office an' all

well once i get that big one on my side, my fourth one is gonna be a celtic (not the football team, irish scottis tribal patterns) sleeve up my arm that will go up my carrotted artery and stop at my jaw bone.
but my face for the same reason as the fact that
OW!
the onel on my chest was sore enough, lower stomach got better but the face is pushing it.

That tattoo is an awesome piece of artwork and I wouldn’t mind something similar to zells, but the truth is unless your part of a paramilitary organization like zell is chances are you’re never going to get a good job with a flashy tat like that.
Customers don’t like people with tattoos and therefore neither do employers. I know a guy from where I go to college who walked in for an interview at a local chilies, got the job, and then afterwards was talking to his new boss. He told the guy he was glad the tattoo on his wrist wasn’t a problem. His boss gave it a look and then said it was a problem and fired him on the spot. Hired and fired in the same day.
