The only connection is that there is someone named cid in all of them, which I think is pretty cool, tactics and small things like some names of characters in ff7 are names of places in ff9 XD doesn't really mess up the storyline at all but it's nice to try and spot all of the connections

There's also the GF's names like Shiva, Ifrit, Bahamut, etc. that gets reused.Although I heard that all the summons get turned into Airships in FFXII. Moobas and chocobos, etc are reoccuring. Oh, and some of the names for the weapons gets reused as well.
