There's a PS2 emulator also, but it's not complete. A lot of games are playable, but not perfect. It requires a really high end PC to use, too.

it requires a high-end PC because the emulator is coded poorly >.<
seeing as how the Cell is vastly different than x86 processors, i think a PS3 emulator wont exist for over 10 years.. and wont run properly for another 10 after that (unless they start putting Cell Processors in PC's... which would suck horribly for the PC gaming community as Cell Processors are garbage for playing games on)

aye,
it works on the PS3 as the sofware is designed for the hardware.
on the PC most software is logical, but the Cell does not excell at logical processes like the x86 which means that most software will have to be redesigned to run efficiently.
essentally it will turn the PC into the early Mac's, upgrading hardware will only cause complications unless it is designed for your entire new system.

Maybe, but until there's another one that works as well or better, coded poorly is better than not coded at all. At least in this case. There are things about the PS2 emulator I definitely don't like, but at least it's out there for use.
I'm sure you're right on the PS3 emulator. I wouldn't be surprised if one of the reasons Sony went with a new type of processor like the cell is how difficult it will be to emulate.

EpsxE will work great on a good PC. I haven't found any trouble running any games except Xenogears. It doesn't seem to like that game much at all.
