Yeah, they are.
Personally I wouldn't call them hardcore fans. Hardcore fans know what they're talking about. The hardcore wrestling fans seen in the internet are usually just bs fans.
They don't know anything other than what they've read and few of them have actual credibility in the ring and they talk as if they know the ins and outs.
Well for not liking the comments about pro wrestling being fake though, that's because pro wrestling isn't fake. It is choreographed and most pro wrestling smarks probably appreciate that sort of choreography and appreciate the effort and risk that takes to do that and it feels a slap to the pro wrestlers who do those things for the fans.
I believe even in one of the interviews I've read on the net about Ken Shamrock, he even commented something about pro wrestling being as dangerous or more injury prone than UFC because he needs to do some aerial moves and all it takes is a few measly botched moves to end your career, just ask Bret Hart.
Mostly though, being a fan of the genre, I feel I'm justified in defending that alot of us get mad more that the mainstream have only watched WWE and have the audacity to say that wrestling is fake after having only watched one fed or 2 fed if you count WcW which are the only 2 mainstream wrestling shows available around the world based off my country and the fact that most wrestling shows are bought and most of the people here are very poor already to even be able to afford "original" cds/dvds on a regular basis.
A friend of mine even have the audacity to say ECW sucks compared to the WWE and I know damn well that he haven't seen much of ECW much less any unless you count the ECW PPV promoted by the WWE.
I don't know if you know all of this already but for the sake of info, I'm just throwing these out to the readers anyway.

oh i completely know its choreographed. fake was indeed the wrong word to choose. i respect that it is dangerous but sadly i just dont enjoy it. i would rather watch boxing actually. i find boxing to be the most physically demanding sport out there. also the most serious when it comes to injuries. this is ofc ourse from mainstream sports. im sure there are tons of other sports that i dont even know about that are more demanding and more dangerous. but i like my boxing.

i don' tknow really, some of it was cause i didn't like mcmahhon. plus, as i grew older, i found other things to spend my time on. where i used to get the payperview and tickets to the events, i started going to concerts and spending time on my guitar. i'll still watch it ever once in a while, just not like i used too.
