it IS possible for linux to make a game OS that plays games without installing them.
BUT it would need a TON of ram because the games arnt formated to run from the disc.
it would be possible to run the game from a disc if you installed it to a HD and then copied that to a Disc (except saving wouldent work.. might need to set that up before you copy to the DvD)
Ever hear of Knoppix? its Linux that runs off of the DvD tray. you can Load knoppix to ram and then use the DvD try to load all your personal files ("Knopix to ram" is the command i believe)
