Dear God

im going to be building a new PC that uses a Dual core processor. now im researching new processors that will give me the most bang for the buck.

i have about $300, $350 to blow on this thing.

so i find the AMD64x2 4000+ processor. around $340 and gives a good preformance. i WISH i could get the top of the line AMD FX62 which is possibly the best processor on the market today. but costs about $1000

so im looking around, and somone points out that Intel is making a new processor and i should take a look at the Core 2 Duo.

dear sweet jesus.
i have used AMD all of my life. it was just the best bang for my buck.
but this Intel Core 2 Duo 6600 is in my price range (the 6700 is about $500) and get this.

the Core 2 Duo 6600 out-preforms the AMD FX62 in nearly every aspect except memory speeds. which i can only reall utilize with the extremely expensive DDR2 800mhz ($350 for 2gb)

game preformance is also better on the Core 2 Duo 6600.. AND its 1/3 the price..
i thought i would never EVER see the day that i, Thor, use an Intel processor, but the time has come. and i am ready.

What abaout the Intel Pentium D 805 clocked at 2.66 GHz. With it you can overclock it to 4.1 GHz! It out works just as good as the Athlon FX-60 and the Pentium Extreme Edition 965.

Although at that speed, water cooling is needed! but it's like $130 maybe even less?
Here's the link

see. i COULD do that. but im going to get the power OVER the FX62 WITHOUT overclocking.

i could get watercooling, overclock the 6600 to 4.1ghz and get preformance that is uncomparable to that of anything else.

plus i want DDR2 memmory

mmmm, i see, but I dont know how overclockable processor your talking about is. In the Pentium D 805 was a kinda a special configuration, not that they planned it! But I guess your right!

the 805 was an example of things to come i think ...making the best out a something that didnt work as planned , hv either of you guys seen the new fb dimm technoloogy ..wasnt originally going to be used in the way it is now ... it means that further down the line your going to see foxconn coming up with boards that have 8 dimm slots ..lol..yes 8 ..the becnchmarks are going to stupidly high ...tyran already has a motherboards out that takes advantage of this . imagine 8 gig of crucial ram ..insane Razz
