honestly * sony and all playstations
had to fix my ps2 5 times.
last time i had to get a new set of lens. this time? i have to do it again, i spent over 3 or 4 times what the ps2 is worth into mine.
* PS2, AND CERTAINLY * PS3 IF ITS GONNA BE HAS DELICATE.

man that sucks. i never had any trouble with my ps2 or my ps1. i cant believe you actually had to pay for repairs i mean isnt that what you have warranty for

yhea but the warranty is good for just some time, that time actually passed. but i had to fix it so many times.
psx i had no probs it was way sturdier, i remember i only had to fix it once, or maybe twice at MOST. i think once.
honestly i hate sony.
i hate a lot the fact that i wont be able to buy kh2 or many other games.

either i'm lucky or you are just very unlucky. the most problems i have with consoles is my xbox. some games i play on it just get stuck. ah well good thing im not that addicted to my xbox as my ps2 and my pc

ah yes. my uncle once broke my ps2 by accidently dropping it. we could still play with it, but there were pieces broken so he bought me a new one after a while and he took the broken one for himself

If you leave the PS2 on for prolonged periods of time, the lens/laser will burn out.
Kuu do you mean getting your lens fixed or cleaned, because if they are charging you for a brand new lens, then your getting ripped because a lens wouldn't break 5 times, unless they meant it too!
If it's cleaning that is understandable. I have had to get my lens cleaned 2 times now so..

i know what you mean.
the PStwo is MUCH better, and in all honesty, is really what should have been released (i know its impossible, but its a PS2 that DOESNT BREAK! OMG!)
i have had my PS2 break 3 times, and have put nearly $800 into the thing. only to sell it after finding out that i dont play it at all and only really owned it because all my friends said how cool it was.
my friend and neighbor has had his broken 3 times as well. and has spent over $1000 in repairs and parts. not to mention countless hours of attempting to frankenstien two broken PS2's into one working one.
my old childhood friend has 2 PS2's one works half the time, the other just broke, he tried to frankenstien the Disc drive off of the dead one to the one with DRE problems, dident work, so he blew both of them up this last 4th of July.
the rest of my friend with PS2's are encountering DRE problems.
the PS3 i dont see being any better. if anything the problem will just become bigger as it has about 1000 more parts than the PS2, and about 3x more parts than the 360, the extra parts dont make it faster, they just are priopritory, so sony doesnt have to pay anyone to use the tech, and will hopefully make sony some money. the problem is that with so much more parts, so much more can go wrong.
i say wait awhile before ever consitering getting a PS3.
and to those of you who have a PS2 thats lasted you a long time... you are truely lucky. you have no idea just how lucky you are.

i guess i can wait 344 days just to get my vengeance. (actually its my brother's who doesnt uses it so even thought i spent so much over it and used it way more than him he still gets to sell it and i cant touch it T_T)
aside from that i feel really humiliated. In my country (argentina) has u may know dolar is 1-3 (almost), meaning i have to pay 3 of our currency for each one of yours. (not coz of coin but of coin value)
wich means where u have to earn 100 u$s i got to earn 300 u$s to fix mine (cept not u$s)
so in my case u can imagine how much i spent on it lol......
if im ever going down its at a sony conference with heavy fire guns.... =)
ps: i got a GC too, they are has sturdy has hell, most of nintendo's consoles are. (not meaning they are bulletproof vests but... hey)
