PS3 and HDTV
if you only have a standard Definition TV (as in, NOT a HD-TV) you can expect that the graphics are not going to be as good as what you see in the screenshots.
HD-TV's arent expensive anymore. infact you can get an extremely good one for $700.
ala, a 24in LCD
24in might seem small, but its good for a bedroom, and its also an LCD so you can plug it up to your PC and play some good ole PC games.
not to mention that it has what i like to call "True High Definition"
why is an LCD true high definition?
because it can actually output the ecquilivant of 1080p... at 60 frames per second.
so do any of you forum goer's are planning on getting a PS3 and dont have an HD-TV yet? its truely dedicated.

I have a plasma tv. No idea if its 1080p etc but I'll assume it can play a ps3 well. lol. But that tv is in our lounge room and if I had a PS3 now it would most likely be in my bedroom...

as long as you have 720p or higher then you will get the full use out of the PS3's graphics.
sorry, i created this thread after a long debate with somone who was claiming that the PS3's graphics were 3x better than the 360's (which isint true, they will be about the same, only 1080p compatable games MIGHT be better looking than the 360's, but it truely depends on the developers)
but at the end of the debate, he revelied that he dident own an HDTV at all... which kinda proved my point further.

lol, EXACTLY 3 x better.
Honestly this whole thing about "The ps3s graphics r better than xbox 360's" is just so stupid. I couldn't care honestly I'm just looking forward to some of the games on the PS3. The good visuals are a bonus but they aren't important in my book, I mean I still play SNES games because they are good to play.
I'm glad they stole Nintendo's motion sensor too, lol because now it will save me money having to get a Wii.

um
the motion sensing capabilities of the PS3 are severly limiting. its nothing compared to the Wii's motion sensing powers.
frankly, a Camera can offer much more in that aspect of gaming than the motion sensing in the PS3's controller.

lol ooh you know you know all the big stores that sell you know electionic thingys including ps2 and xbox and gamecube. they're really promoting Blu-ray DVD player and the plasma HDTV very pretty images lol from samsung. Ohh it would be great to have the PS3 with it (O_O) lol kinda outta topic but whatever lol
oh yeaaah.. speaking of which Haine does have an HDTV... but its in the living room lol and like Stappy Haine's ps3 would be in her room along with everything else lol

the motion sensing in the Wii is positional baised.
the Motion sensing in the PS3 is directional baised.
you can use the wiimote as a pointable gun, a sword, or anything you want to manipulate an object in a game with the motion sensing.
the motion sensing in the PS3 is directional baised, it cannot tell where the controller is at all, and only knows that it is being moved in what direction. meaning you cannot use it to point at things, you cannot use it as a sword, you cannot use it to kinda physically manipulate objects in games. you can really only use it as another control method like in the game Warhawk to tilt your plane.. its really just basic motion sensing abilities, nothing really advanced like whats in the wii.
i dont have to use them to know about their technology. and when they come out, ill play them and get them and then affirm my knowledge on the products.

Plasma, guess nobody warned you huh... well actually I dont know about today's Plasma's but I knew that the older Plasma's green, wait maybe it was blue...whaterever, one of the colors faded over time more than the others!
SO I stick to LCD! Since that technology has been around and is only getting better!
