ff8 wasthe crapiest game of the franchise. it had a sucky storyline, bad characters, and stupid layout. i beat it so quickly, i allmost got a record for it.

final fantasy eight was easy what was the point apocalypse the most powerful spell is only obtainable at the last boss

FF8 had beat ff7 on lots of things but only if you can judge the two as Rpgs instead of FFs
1. FF8 had romance written all over it instead of us having to guess which woman will Cloud end up with and killing off Aeris
2. Squall is a truer character and more humane than Cloud who had just been a wannabe Zack. Of course fans would argue that Cloud was his own man.
3. FF8 developed the main character's flaws and showed how real world people help him improve. The only thing the ff7 did to Cloud was save his ass a bunch of times and he could improve all on his own if he were more powerful
4. FF8's junction system is more complexed and is showed well by their world as proof by Squall having to study how it works in the beginning unlike FF7 where we all just were given a taste of the materia system with no explanation how it works at all
5. FF8 had at least an equal outlook of Seifer and Squall where in FF7 Sephie is way too powerful for Cloud and it's just stupid at how he got beaten. It's like the makers said, let's make this cool character but let's have him go stupid near the end and lose to a bunch of 8 people even though he can train and beat almost everyone in the world but oh, not to this 8 people and let's have him lose to Cloud at the end in a one on one fight.
Ooohhh suddenly Cloud went SSJ by the end (finally some explanation for that hair !)

in FFVII, it may not have had romance, but it made up for it with a killer layout of the world in the game.
The stories of the characters in FFVIII were not explained in such detail as in FFVII. Plus, the characters were a lot more interactive in FFVII.
The storyline overall killed in FFVII. FFVIII had something here, something there, but nothing to hold the player into the story.
There you have it, why FFVII rules over FFVIII......

You avoided targeting the flaws I presented and made your own pros.
1. Killer Layout is based on opinion and is not the numero uno reason for why people like rpgs
2. How were the characters more interactive? You need to go into details here. Again, when did the two games had much story details at all?
One was about some guy going being a rebel that turns out to be a former Soldier that turns out not to be one that turns to be an experimented project that turns out to get err... the pattern here doesn't make sense. Had it not been for the FF name and the great hype and graphics, people would have nitpicked the flaws in ff7's story
The other had some guy studying and training into something then getting angsty then having all this flashbacks or something then having this girl dance with him and then apparently he saves the world even though he's neither the best student of Balamb nor did he go any special training.
The above is an over simplification of both series and that really isn't interesting at all.Alot of people bought the two series because of the FF name and the hype around the graphics.
One thing though, FF8 had more a closure though than FF7.
3. FF8 like many FFs had alot to hold on their story or else no one would finish it.
So far none of the points you made showed FF8 getting pwned by FF7. More like in your opinion, FF8 is not as good as FF7. I respect your opinion.

I think 7 is cool. You cant diss 7. 8 is best though (I'm on disc 2!! I have almost completed it but kept crashing!!) I have played the game too mant times but not completed it yet!!

Im play FF7 ,im plaingFF7 again,my last save i defeated Emerald weapon with 10:07 min(in combat).
But i noticed a person,it's defeated in 1:08min.
Waaaaah!I don't believe.
And he make a video with same type combo.
