the PS3 looked like a WWII air hanger. and really poses an ironic moment for all as i remember plenty of friends saying that the PS2 ruled all because it was smaller than the Xbox and would fit in their rooms.
of all the consoles though. i think nintendo deserves the lead, mainly because they dont do any sneaky practices, and are a gracious 3rd place.
OH and they only need 1 game for their console to sell at all... Zelda... and mario helps too.

For the record I am afraid that I can never give any compliments to the Xbox, after I had spent $500 dollars on the system, games, Japanese S Controller (before they remade the new controller for the US) and HD monster cables, just to come to find out that all it does is play PC games on my TV that do not take gaming to another level as they advertised, I have been angry at them ever since
I don't mean to cause a flame but the two things that MS and Nintendo will never admit is that the Xbox is to provide gamers who do not have PCs (or weak PCs) to play new and popular PC games (which there is nothing wrong with that, the idea seems to be successful) and the Nintendo is focused on games for children since they know that responsible parents who are strict when it comes to what their children watch and play would choose the GC. Of course if either company ever admits those truths then it would turn a few PC gamers away from the Xbox and a few adults away from the GC who do not want to just play Pokemon and Mario for the console's entire life :wink
IMHO, XBOX has the MUCH better hardware, but Sony and Nintendo dominate the software. I have no doubt that the current XBOX has better graphics (overall) but the PlayStation and the GameCube have better games.

Yup you are right Cacc, and just like music if an amateur musician doesn't take advantage of everything their equipment offers then they will release a song that isn't all that great.
Which is the case with developers and the Xbox, the Xbox could have an 9ghz Cpu with 10Gbs of Ram but if developers do not take advantage of what it offers then it is just there for show.
The Xbox reminds me of back when I owned my own car stereo business, there were expensive PPI amps that had low wattage ratings but they sounded the best at high levels and lasted longer, but they never sold as many as the amps that stated they could use 1000 watts peak per channel but they didn't mention that at 1000 watts rms your music will distort and sound awful.
The Xbox flashes their hardware specs and since people assume that bigger numbers means better then they will buy it without doing their homework to realize the advantages of the other consoles.
well if your comparing the hardware:
733mhz processor vs 233mhz processor
96mb ram vs 62mb (or close) mb ram.
better hardware just means better graphics/physics and large scale wars.
looking at Halo2 and Doom3 for the xbox its perty apparent that the developers have gotten perty much everything the xbox has to offer.
infact im still amazed at how good Halo2 looks.. i dont know how they did it but it always blows me away.
yah the xbox has its flukes.. all consoles have their flukes. but just saying that "The ps2 has better games" is WAY too vague. it has better RPG's? well it has different RPG's, KOTOR i think is amazing along with Fable and morrowind.
its all about taste. i have met people who swear by the face of god that SOCOM is better than Halo. i usually ignore them because both the games play differently. (socom is in the same league with BattleField i think.. hrm.)
People should do their homework. Microsoft flashes their Hardware, Sony drags people in with "We Made the Playstation, its cool so LOVE US" the problem is that "Doing your homework" barely helps. whatever you research you are bound to find something you like or want. "I want halo.. OHH but i want to play R&C"

360 will blow ps3 out of the watter, especally since they are releacing halo 3 the same day as the ps3's releace onto the market + haveing a xbox backwords compatable makes it a far better platform then the ps3 for the sole perpous of the fan bace the orignal xbox made! plastation will awise be a icon but they are in decline. at leats this is my outlook and dont get me wrong i have a ps2 and will pick up a ps3 after the xbox 360
